The man hospitalized after being shot by Vice President Cheney has suffered a "minor heart-attack," according to a hospital spokesman.
Harry Whittington was shot by Cheney during a hunting trip and was hospitalized in stable condition.
"Some of the birdshot appears to have moved and lodged into part of his heart," hospital spokesman Peter Banko said during a televised press conference.
The asymptomatic heart attack was discovered after doctors discovered an irregular heartbeat while performing tests to determine the best course of action for his gunshot wounds.
Hospital officials anticipate the 78-year old will remain in the hospital for at least another 7 days.

No doubt there's no comments, the news is so tilted to the right the people are tired of the democatic pouting. They're confused which is very normal for them. They need GOOD leadership which they do not have and haven't had for many years. Raping the other side is all they know how to do, when we were kids it was called being cry babies, nothing has changed. Hootie
A 2005 UCLA study, headed by political scientist Tim Groseclose, found 18 of the 20 major media outlets, including the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and CBS Evening News, were left of the center.
Lucky he was in Texas.
Accidental shootings are felonies in Minnesota if the hunter has intentionally discharged a firearm under circumstances that endangered the safety of another.
If Cheney had shot his best friend while bird hunting in Minnesota, he would have appeared in criminal court for his felony arraignment.
Don't we all want to feel that our government is working for everyone's best interest? My interest is my family and my students/job. I lean to the left because they care about every person and want to do the "right" thing. Caring about people, young and old, hasn't been in this administration's best interest!
It's about "the people, all people." There are some people in this world, children and elderly alike, who need us to take notice of their future independence -- it's about global responsibility. We, on the left, truely care and are empathetic about "all" people. That is my life.
Thank you,
Jenny
